It was wonderful for the consistently excellent Grateful vibe on stage but even more so for the Grateful vibe around the festival grounds. Second, somewhere in the middle of Saturday it occurred to me that I had never been to a Dead-centric festival before. Fortunately, videos of each and every set were recorded by the remarkable team of Volke Mon and Peace Pattie, whose incredible work has captured Orange Blossom Jamboree, Farm to Grass, and MALABACKYARD sets over the past years, and for them (and all archivists) we are eternally grateful. ![]() First, Florida’s Grateful Gathering at Maddox Ranch was a four-day festival, and I was only able to make it out for part of Friday and part of Saturday. Several important observations to make here.
